Exynos 1580 Chipset
Samsung has launched the Exynos 1580 chipset, designed to power the Galaxy A56 5G. This new mid-range processor features octa-core CPUs with Cortex cores, achieving a peak frequency of 2.9 GHz.
Processor and Enhancements
The Exynos 1580 improves CPU, GPU, and NPU performance significantly. It includes a transition to a tricluster architecture, which allows for smoother app performance and enhanced security. The architecture comprises one Cortex A720 core at 2.9 GHz, three Cortex A720 cores at 2.6 GHz, and four Cortex A520 cores at 1.95 GHz.
Power Efficiency
Built on Samsung’s third-generation 4nm process node, the Exynos 1580 enhances both computing performance and power efficiency. The upgraded GPU offers a 37% improvement in power efficiency compared to its predecessor, the Schlitz 540 GPU.
Graphics and AI Features
The Exynos 1580 features the Xclips 540 GPU, providing a significant boost in data processing power and enabling console-level visuals with minimal lag. The NPU within the Exynos 1580 can process up to 14.7 trillion operations per second. Memory capacity is increased to simplify real-time summaries of complex content and enable instant image translation. Samsung has hinted at additional Galaxy A features coming soon for the A series.
